Helping Clients Thrive

What I like most about my helping profession is witnessing change. You may think “how is this possible?” I have eye witness accounts of change in thinking, change in behavior, and ultimately improving the quality of life. I enjoy lending my enthusiasm and hope until you find your own. Counseling is that opportunity to make a difference by improving mental, physical, and spiritual health – it works! Some people are looking for answers on managing mood states, or reducing angry outburst, or resolving traumatic experiences. While others may seek counseling to reduce stress and improve self-esteem, or improve relationships and deal with toxic people in their lives. All are good reasons to make that call and take the first step to becoming a better you. I enjoy working with people throughout the life stages and the changes it brings from young adult to seniors. I employ a variety of evidenced based treatment modalities with cognitive behavior therapy being the base model. It is my privilege to hear your story and walk alongside you with confidential and professional therapy.

About Me

I am a licensed professional counselor who did not seek education in the traditional manner. Instead I am a late bloomer and earned my three degrees as an adult while working and parenting. I take pride in overcoming obstacles and hope to share that enthusiasm by empowering others to reach their goals no matter what the hindrance. I have worked inpatient and outpatient psychiatric/counseling settings and within juvenile detention centers. I have experience working with foster care and adoption services and domestic violence agencies. In my leisure I enjoy time with family and friends and passionately seek out anything that takes me outdoors and into the splendor of all that God created from the farm fields surrounding my home to hiking local trails or hitting the water with my kayak.
